Moe Dixon, one of the country's top solo artists, presents an entry level overview of the ukulele including basic playing exercises. Dixon is well known on the festival and concert club circuit for his masterful finger-style and ragtime guitar, as well as his powerful vocals. For more information about Dixon, visit his website at swiftrivermusic.com. He was instrumental in the development of Mya-Moe Ukuleles, including their unique resonator model. The workshop will be co-facilitated by Moe's long-time musical collaborator Jimmy Sferes; these two have played together on and off for over thirty years and recorded a CD together as part of the trio Dixon, Sferes & Shreve.
Stick around for an energetic acoustic performance by Moe Dixon from 7-8:30pm in Wheeler Hall later that same evening.
Sponsored by the Cultural Events Committee at Colby-Sawyer College. For more information about the workshop, contact Jimmy Sferes at 603.526.3483 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Free and open to the public.
